Character

Character means style, method, role, occupation, work, behavior, characteristic, habit.

The qualities or traits that a person has are called character. Man's behavior in a situation reflects his character. The way you deal with life's complexities is called your character. The definition of character is self-respect, self-control, maturity of will and honesty. The presence of all these qualities at the highest level is a high character. It is a high role for individuals to be ready to sacrifice themselves for the collective good of the nation.

Terminologically these are the characteristics of the character, which develop into individual human beings. Just as small holes promise light in a dark room; so do small things reveal a person's character.

Things that are not done by saying, listening and writing are accomplished through character. Character in human life is the only means by which we form our habits and customs. Man's Character is a book that any human being, whether educated or ignorant, can easily read.

Building human personality is reflected in his character and his character is evident in his training. But man's practical training is a reflection of his orthodox beliefs and enlightened views.

There is greatness in character. Man's character is that a beauty, which does not decline. Man's character makes him great. Human training begins in the mother's lap. Then when the child learns to walk, the second round of training begins at the school. And the third stage is man's friend and the environment in which he grows up.

Acquiring knowledge and then performing services in any field of practical life, man not only goes through the ups and downs of life, but by performing his services in the light of his knowledge, he is exposed to innumerable experiences. At this stage it is in the true sense of the word truth and falsehood, original and imitation, justice and injustice, faith and dishonesty, good and evil, assuming that the practical model of truth and falsehood is obtained through employment or business. Where he observes the behavior and attitudes of the people on a daily basis and confronts the machinations and lies of the world.  But a good person is one who understands negative attitudes and follow the right path to stop them, instead of being colored in the colors of the world.

In the Holy Quran, Allah has called the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) a role model for the living world. Allah says that the Prophet (PBUH) is the best example for you.

While the divine commandments forbid polytheism in terms of worship and enjoins the worship of one God, it also forbids lying, breaking promises, betrayal, evil, bribery, hatred and envy and other evils in relation to moral values.

Contrary to these evils, the virtues that the Qur'an instructs us to adopt include truthfulness, chastity, pardon, forgiveness, and self-sacrifice. Yes, Islam considers it to be the height of human standard to the same extent. Man's character should be so high that even if he leaves this world, people will remember him in good words and if he is alive, they will wish to meet him again.

If man transcends personal interests, he is called the noblest of creatures. The journey from animal to humanity is very long and complicated. Ages pass in the twists and turns of this journey. Some people are born lucky, their training is natural and they become a practical example of humanity in a short span of time. Despite training, some people in this world do not fall into the realm of humanity. Upon the demise of some people, many other also die (because their existence is like a shady tree supporting many families).  And some people die and many people start living (because their existence is usurping the rights of many people). It is all the result of one's own character.

God Almighty has not created any human being without a purpose. But very few people are aware of this fact. Many people think that there is a purpose to our life, so what should we do to achieve that goal? Questions of what, why, how and when are the biggest obstacles to achieving this goal. These are the questions we need help and guidance to answer. Despite our intellect, we are unable to answer these questions.

The real reason is that we fail to play our part. Everyone has a role to play in society. Therefore, each character must be performed on time. Some people have different roles in this society like a man is someone's husband, someone’s father, someone’s son, someone’s brother, someone’s friend, someone’s master and someone’s servant, but he does not even perform a single role satisfactorily; due to its non-fulfillment of its true role, it remains a gap of it and the development of the society stops.

In our religion, such characters are included in the duties. The fulfillment of rights and duties is possible only through character. We take on the role of government (government job) but do not fulfill it properly. We take big roles in government institutions, private institutions, departments, organizations, associations, groups and religious institutions, but not perform well. Incomplete and unsatisfactory work results in poor performance of institutions. In this regard, the honesty of a few people can’t see any effect. More people dominate less people and their role in society becomes more visible.

Millions of people have come and gone in the history of humanity, but the memory of a few has become famous because of their character. They are alive and will live even though they are not in this world. Everyone knows these things but still neglects their character. Their hearts are locked, their eyes are blindfolded, and their vision does not work.

Our thinking should be that we have to be good human beings. Everything is in our own hands. If we wish, we can follow the path of good people or bad people. Therefore, we pray to Allah that “O Allah, guide us to the straight path and the path of those to whom You have sent Your blessings, not of those on whom You have angered, nor of those who go astray”.

How to correct the character? Who teaches character building? These questions are not suitable for a Muslim because Allah has answered these questions in the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet. He says, "Of course, we will see every one of their smallest good deeds and their evil deeds." Now there is a need for action. May Allah help us to fulfill our role so that we can contribute to the development and prosperity of the society.

Pay attention to the following points for the greatness of the character: -
  • If you have authority, don't make the mistake of choosing.
  • Don't use force while you are strong.
  • If you are hungry, give your food to the needy person.
  • You are capable of responding but forgive.
  • You can blow up the one in front, but keep quiet.
  • Go and give the right to the rightful owner that this is your right, brother, please, grab it.

The believer, even in the loneliness of the desert, will say, "I fear my God." No one is watching me, my Lord is watching. He is a virtuous person who does not make mistakes while having authority. He is the guardian servant. God's friend. Who, in spite of all his might, takes a path that is desolate. Not everyone walks this path. He chooses for himself whether or not I am on the right path.

This is the character, people trust you. People can believe you. People can rely on you. Make people feel safe and secure with you. People feel safe walking with you, whether you are doing job with them or they are employed with you. Promise, pay on time, respect them, value them and regard the smallest human being.

Fraud, lying, concealing the truth, using linguistics, and breaking promises are signs of characterlessness. As if you are very good, perform all the prayers but do not pay the salary, humiliate the people, bleed their self-esteem, pass remarks to the people, humiliate them. All of these attributes are evidence of your selfishness.

Character is the only criterion by which we can test one's humanity and distinction.

They never preach their nobility
