Conjecture
Conjecture or supposition (حسن ظن) means good thoughts, good ideas, good fortune, good luck, positively guessing about someone, good faith, etc.
Avoiding harassment and being kind to others is a means of strengthening our relationships. Mutual mistreatment leads to envy, malice, mischief and misconduct, and destroys faith, makes man an enemy of other man. The speed and motion of conjecture, play an important role to curb all these dangerous toxins to abandon.
Conjecture, is a worship in which a human being has no hard work or financial sacrifice. He only has to put his mind in a positive direction and he also does not take any action and become eligible to be rewarded with the blessings of Almighty Allah.
Suppose two men are engaged in a conversation sitting at a place. A man walks by them. If he thinks that two friends are sitting and discussing their problem, then he has done good. He did not take any hard work, did not give any sacrifice. Only with this kindness, he would be rewarded by Almighty Allah. And if he passes by, he thinks that they are both thieves. They are planning to steal or they are robbers. They are talking about making a robbery and spreading the same thing. So he did not get anything. He did not get any material benefit. Only because of this misconduct will the sin of delinquency be written in his name.
The real thing is conjecture, so wrong suspicion (سوئے ظن) is done because of some argument. For example, if both men are really thieves, their theft is well-known and famous, then even if someone thinks of suggesting theft about them, then perhaps Allah Almighty will ignore and forgive him by declaring him to be guilty. But to have suspicion without any evidence is disliked by Allah Almighty and to have suspicion is not the honor of a believer.
It is narrated in the hadeeth that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
"ظن المؤمنین خیرا "
That is, it is good to have a Conjecture (good opinion) of the believers.
Allah says, "O you who believe!
"یا ایھاالذین اٰمنوااجتنبوا کثیرًامن الظن ان بعض الظن اثمٌ "
"O you who believe! Beware of most of the conjectures. Surely some conjectures are sins."
Allah Almighty said: Beware of many assumptions. This is an indication that most suspicions are sins. Therefore, one should be careful with every suspicion so that he does not commit mistake.
There are two types of conjectures:
- The first type of sin is that the servant thinks and narrates further.
- The second type is not a sin that the servant is suspicious but does not state it further.
The glory of a believer is that he works with good intentions. The second Khalifah Syedna Farooq Azam (may Allah be pleased with him) says:
ولا تظن بکلمة خرجت مت اخيك المؤمن الا خيرا وانت تجدلها في الخير محملاً
Whatever comes out of the mouth of your believing brother, think well of it, while you can interpret it anyway that you may wish.
There should be a line of communication between us and others, but not a distance. The thing that creates this connection and strengthens it once the connection is established is to accept the rights of others and to respect their rights.
There are many occasions when the words and actions of others may cause us to be suspicious. There, it is our responsibility to consider their words and deeds as far as possible and to find an argument for it so that we do not fall into suspicion. This condition creates an atmosphere of trust among the people and makes the life sweeter.
May God keep us away from pessimism and fill us with conjecture.
