Pudicity

Pudicity means a sense of honor, a sense of respect, and a quality of a person that cannot tolerate disrespect.

The word Pudicity is borrowed from the Arabic word (غيرة), which means to work hard, to try and to struggle for a person’s dislike of another’s sharing in a right. It has a sense of earnest concern or zeal over something and can be considered a kind of protective jealousy.  Pride refers to a change in the state of the heart and a state of hegemony due to anger. In fact, pudicity is the fear and apprehension inside a person that occurs only because a person thinks that he is facing a resistance or an obstacle.

While in its meaning two things are specifically mentioned. One is to change the state of heart by seeing something offensive and the other is not to tolerate the participation of others in any of your special rights. The passion that arises from the combination of these two things is called Protective Jealousy (غیرت). The word is usually used to describe the steps taken to protect the dignity and honor of women. The appearance of prudicity is usually due to jealousy, envy and anger.

In the Arabic language, Protective Jealousy (غیرت) is a spirit of pride and arrogance that does not tolerate the participation of any other person or group for a moment.

Pudicity is related to human nature. This passion has been instinctively given to man by Allah Almighty. A person deprived of honor is deprived of purity, and if a pure life is lacking in him, then his life is below from the life of animals.

A person who is devoid of religious zeal for his family and respectable women. That is, if you see their obscenity, nudity and obscenity, but remain silent, then he is a demon. There is a hadith about such a person that Allah Almighty will not even look at such a person on the Day of Resurrection.

Allah Almighty has made man proud and passive in relation to himself and his being. This is the natural emotion that is embedded in human DNA. And this is the reason why man, no matter how helpless and compelled he may be, keeps his life in the protection and preservation of his honor and dignity till his last breath.

A person or a nation having a spirit of pride, humility and grief, his future generations will be able to lead a constructive life. And the same society will become the embodiment of good morals and will also be entitled to high values.

According to the hadith, there are two kinds of pudicity in the sight of Allah Almighty. One is Ghairat Mabghooz (Pudicity based on hatred) and the other is Ghairat Mahboob (Pudicity based on love). The Pudicity that is revealed on the basis of doubt is called Ghairat Mahboob. And the Pudicity that is without a doubt is called Ghairat Mabghooz. Allah Almighty dislikes Ghairat Mabghooz.

The most beloved and admirable Pudicity is that which exists between the Creator and the creatures. This is the pride that a believer's servant gets angry when he sees the prohibitions and limits of Allah being violated and his pride challenges him.

A believing man can bear everything for himself, but he cannot tolerate the violation of taboo even for a moment. In such a case, it is obvious that the feelings of the proud believer may be aroused and flames may ignite in his body and mind. The strongest person from the religious point of view will be the one who has the most pride and respect for the prohibitions and limits of Allah Almighty.

وقت کے ساتھ بدلنا  تو  بہت آسان تھا
مجھ سے ہر وقت مخاطب رہی غیرت میری

It was very easy to change by the time
My Pudicity has always been addressing to me
