Virtue

Virtue means goodness, righteousness, good character, essence, chastity and conformity to the moral laws of action.

Virtue is moral excellence. A virtue is a trait or quality that is deemed to be morally good and thus is valued as a foundation of principle and good moral being. Personal virtues are characteristics valued as promoting collective and individual greatness.

Virtue means good deeds. The dictionary uses the words goodness, kindness and benevolence. Any good thing, kind treatment of a Muslim brother, helping a poor person, etc., or a deed done or thought of with good intentions. That reward is preserved for the day of judgement.

In Arabic, the word for goodness is Barr in English it is called virtue. Good and evil, act of righteousness and bad acts play an important role in human life, so it is very important to do good because it is the good that removes our sins. In addition, this act of kindness strengthens our reason for being human and being a good Muslim.

Everything has a beauty and the beauty of goodness is that it should be done immediately. Let us examine ourselves and observe whether we do good deeds willingly or reluctantly. As we know, goodness should not be despised. A person who has the slightest awareness of goodness, his financial situation allows and his social status is stable, he will definitely contribute to the good and may need a personal projection for his work. This desire is part of human instinct. But as soon as someone becomes selfless and makes his good deeds a part of his life and the intention is for the good of the people and the pleasure of Allah, one day he will start doing good deeds in such a way that no one knows. Because the greatness of good deeds is that by doing it again and again, personal interests are completely destroyed and the pious servant considers himself a volunteer of Allah and opens his resources in the way of Allah.

The basic spirit of religion is benevolence. So if we can't do good for someone, then don't do evil for them. It is not necessary to be financially sound just to be good. Treating people with good manners, taking the initiative in greeting, not backbiting or listening to backbiting, having a good opinion of God's creatures, doing small things for people, inquiring about the mood of the sick, in the category of rights of worship come. Someone is in a hurry and it is good for you to give way to them. It is also good to thank the driver when getting out of the bus or taxi you travel in.

Similarly, helping a human being, helping an animal, removing stones or thorns lying on the road, taking a passenger to the hospital in case of an accident or heart attack or falling for any reason.  To solve and explain a child's problem in a lesson. Giving way to someone, speaking in favor of a brother or sister for making fun of him at a party or for attributing a lie to him, letting a weak old man or an old woman cross the road are all considered good deeds.

Islam has also laid down the rules and regulations of goodness. Goodness should not be done in such a way that a personal ego of the recipient is hurt.  Goodness is not for show. Rather, goodness should be done willingly. The real good is that which gives satisfaction to the heart. That work can be for your own caste as well as for others. For your own caste in such a way that by saving yourself from any evil when you do not do evil out of fear of Allah with the power of evil, it is your own. It is a blessing to you that you have saved yourself from being ashamed before the Lord, even if it was not your intention or intention to get reward, but the intention was fear of God and piety, which did not lead to sin out of fear of God. You did this good and using your will and your authority which the Lord has bestowed.

Virtues are the results of good habits. This habit becomes stronger when our hearts begin to feel indescribable joy and peace in doing good deeds.

All that is done with the intention of doing good to others is considered good. Virtue is the act in which the intention is for the good of humanity but the real aim is to attain the pleasure of Allah alone. Virtue is the act which is recorded in our book of deeds. This is the book of deeds that chooses heaven and hell for us. Therefore, we must keep on increasing our virtues at all times, every day.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

﴿ فَاسْتَبِقُوا الْخَيْرَاتِ ﴾۔البقرہ:148

So be the forerunner of the virtues /
advance towards the virtues.

In one surah he said:

﴿إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ﴾
 سورۃ ہود:114  ۔

Indeed, good deeds erase sins.

In another surah he said:

  ﴿فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ ۔ وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ﴾
 سورۃ الزلزلہ:7،8

He who has done an atom's weight of good will see it. He who has done an atom's weight of evil will see it.

Every good deed falls into the category of charity, so one should strive to do it. The command of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is:

كُلُّ مَعْرُوفٍ صَدَقَةٌ»

Every good deed is a charity.

When the desire to achieve good deeds arises, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala enlightens our hearts so much that we look around us all the time so that someone may find happiness because of us, someone may find peace for a moment. If found, we would run towards him.

Someone is very angry and it is good for you to see them smiling.

Sometimes somewhere, someone needs a pen and it is good for you to go ahead and present your pen to them.

Goodness never fails. Rather, there is a power in goodness that after performing it, man gets such heartfelt happiness that it has no value. Other good deeds are done for the sake of Allah Almighty. And Allaah rewards the good deeds of His slaves in this world as well, and in the Hereafter man's good deeds are safe. For example, we sacrifice our happiness to help someone financially to alleviate their suffering. And Allaah helps us with His bounty and the treasures of the unseen in a way we cannot even imagine.

Helping others, to do their task, participating in people's responsibilities, helping the helpless, etc. are the most important virtues. Every man and woman should make these virtues the purpose of their life because the great Muslim is the one whose tongue, hands and feet and other energies and abilities come in handy for other human beings.

The proof of love for God is that we help His creatures, because if humanity and service are removed from the religion, then only worship remains and God has no shortage of angels for mere worship.

There was something to be done for the sake of others
What is the meaning of that life, where one only loves his own life
